Why Choose an Extra Wide 8mm Seal

The FS-308 combines a 300mm sealing length with an extra wide 8mm sealing wire. It produces a broader sealed band than the FS-300, making the finished seal easier to see when checking the pouch. Use it when the full pouch opening fits comfortably inside the bar.

The 8mm band needs a flat section of material. Leave enough space above the contents and keep the pouch square on the element. All Polypouch pouches can be heat sealed, but thickness still affects the timer setting required.

How to Get an Even 8mm Seal

Pressing the FS-308 arm activates the element for the selected impulse cycle, applying heat and pressure across an 8mm wide area. The broader element must contact the pouch evenly, so remove wrinkles, moisture and product residue before sealing.

Test an empty pouch at a low setting and increase the time in small steps. Let the 8mm band cool before checking it. A wider seal still needs the correct time, pressure and cooling, so repeat the test whenever the pouch specification changes.
