What Is Gravure Printing?
Gravure printing uses engraved metal cylinders to transfer ink onto packaging film. Each cylinder is made specifically for your design and holds tiny wells that carry ink to the surface during the printing process.
This method produces precise, long-lasting results, especially useful when printing fine details, rich colours, and complex designs across large quantities of pouches.
Because the setup involves creating custom cylinders (or ‘plates’), gravure is typically used for high-volume runs where the unit cost comes down as quantity increases.
How Gravure Printing Works with Us
Once your design is finalised and approved, we’ll have high-precision cylinders produced to match your artwork. Your pouch film is then printed at high-speed using these cylinders, ensuring professional-grade results with outstanding consistency.
After printing, the film is converted into your chosen pouch type – stand up, flat, gusseted, or bespoke shapes and sizes. Our team works closely with you throughout the process, from artwork preparation to delivery, making sure your pouch meets the highest standards.
We’ll advise you on print-ready file setup, suitable materials, and the most cost-effective run sizes for gravure.
