Retort Pouches

A growing number of food manufacturers are turning to retort pouches to package their goods. A retort pouch is a form of food packaging made from flexible plastic and sometimes metal foils. The packaging is able to withstand very high temperatures used to sterilise food items and does not allow harmful gases to permeate the material. For this reason, retort pouches give food extended shelf life, meaning it does not lose its flavour over time. Retort pouches are a flexible, lightweight alternative to aluminium cans.
